“Meditation on the Dance” (Private Collection)

Description

The first in the Sufi Collection trilogy.  Drawn from photos I took at the Mind Body and Spirit Festival at the National Gallery, London in 2018, with an inspiring dance and music performance from the whirling dervishes of the Sufi Society of London.  Initially I had given the Sufis’ actual facial features, until a friend suggested that expressions often indicate mood, energy or other emotions.  I agreed, so I experimented and finally removed the features.  The viewer can feel into their own interior mood when viewing the works.
