Description
“On The Waterfront”, oil on canvas, 40×30 2.4.22 after Frank Sherwin
This is the third in the trio collection of paintings, in honour of my late Mama. I have been sorting through my late Mama’s photos of her artwork, and there are hundreds (!), creating new professional portfolios of her work, for a joint exhibition of both our artwork in the future. I did eventually find the photo of the painting I have painted here. However, bemused, I found that she had, rather cleverly, split the painting into two, and created two paintings. The first photo I found was the sailboat, was one painting, and another painting. Of course, these paintings have been sold some time back, and I only had the photos to go on. As I was about half-way through this painting, I nearly gave up, as I was finding the boats and details rather challenging. I persevered and moved through the resistance. I have had a number interesting comments and feedback, as well as affirming statements of my art as “having moved up a level”. Nice!
