“Grecian Woman”

“Grecian Woman”. The 1st in the trilogy of the paintings I completed at the Sunny Arts Centre, Central London, Summer 2017. Acrylic on paper .(2017)

My teacher at the Sunny Arts Centre, Marilia Stagkouraki, recognised my passion to explore more intuitive painting with the subjects she set up,  – plaster busts draped in coloured cloths, with the occasional fruit.  She wanted me to draw first, which I did, then paint, and try to paint precisely what i saw.  Something else moved within me, and figurative abstract was borne.
