The Mask

“The Mask” was one of a series of oil paintings based on the Carnival of Venice from the early 1980s.  Mohini had bought Renée  a wonderful calendar of the Carnival, which showed extraordinary photos of different characters and colourful scenes, as photographed by the famous Italian artistic photographer, Fulvio Roiter. (1 November 1926 – 18 April 2016). Those interested in this subject check out his book “Magic Venice In Carnival“. It is simply stunning. Renée painting a number of amazing works on the Carnival of Venice, all of which are now sold, except this one – which Renée also painted twice. I have this last one.  Prints in various forms are available.  They do look lovely with matching frames, under glass.  Treat yourself!
