” Radha Krishna”, oil on canvas, palette knife and brush.43×33 cm

Description

My interest in the Vedic and Hindu deities, stems from my deep and ongoing studies of yoga and meditation, and from my ancestry – from my father who was Indian.  Many deities, icons, religious statues and more emanating from different traditions and cultures often represent and potentially mirror archetypes. Carl Jung’s theory suggested that archetypes were archaic forms of innate human knowledge, which was passed down from our  many ancestors.

Within Hindu philosophy and culture, Radha is generally acknowledged as the Supreme Goddess.  Although Radha is devoted wholeheartedly to Krishna, he, Krishna is in loving and devotional service to Radha.
