“Lotus Girl – Frida (3)”

Description

“Lotus Girl” Inspired by a portrait of Frida Kahlo. She named herself, as she looks quite oriental, with the lotus flowers in her hair, I have always been fascinated by Frida Kahlo, her art, her heroic spirit and her unstinting determination to life and her art.  I have painted several portraits of her, none of them look like her. I am still not good at getting the resemblance.  However, when people see the portraits, they know it’s Frida!  Also I have been encouraged to know that each artists imbibes their own brand of creativity and resemblance could be considered as “secondary”.
