Venus a very early oil on board inspired by the bronze statues “La Valse” (the waltz) of amazing, ill-fated French sculptor Camille Claudel.who was Auguste Rodin’s student and lover. Like so many artists, she came to fame after her demise. Some recognised her talent as superior to Rodin. I am one of them. Her works exhibited at the Musée Rodin in then 1980s are remarkable.
