Description
“Princess Diana” is an original oil painting. I remember Renée painting her, and from a very small photo she found in a newspaper. The likeness is uncanny. We don’t know who commissioned this portrait and we trust that it graces their home. Renée’s portraits invariably seem as thought they “would talk”. I remember Mama saying to me in French “on dirait qu’il vont parler”. Mohini had written to Mohammed Al Fayed, enclosing a photo of this portrait. We trusted that he would receive it. Renée was inspired by many different portrait subjects. Renée was absolutely amazing at giving the likeness when painting a portrait. What was also awesome, was that no person every sat live for her. She painted all her portraits from photos. She almost always painted portraits in oils. Oils was her preferred medium. As is mine! Go Mama!
