Description
A portrait of Our Blessed Lady, in dry pastels 30x20cm (19.5.2024) at the feast of Pentecost. This was offered framed, to the Sisters of the Assumption in London. It sits in a large, airy room with a Sister who is unwell. The colours were intuited, and the portrait is based on a picture I gleaned from my research.
Inspired to take up the pencil! I was told many times by professional and proficient artists, that before you can paint you must learn to draw! I had drawn quite a bit in the late 1980s and then moved onto water colour then oil painting, in order to develop more focus, concentration, attention to detail and work on aspects of shading and likeness.
