Nude Reclining (after Renée Chatlani)

Description

Inspired by Renée Chatlani, my mother’s amazing oil painting  “Lilly in Tranquility” and watercolour works of “Nudes Reclining” and as part of my “lessons in learning from Renée’s works” . This drawing was executed in 15 minutes using Renée’s original watercolour (now in Private Collection) as a guide, drawing upside down. I spent many years learning “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain” where many and much of the lessons are drawn upside down. Inspired to take up the pencil! I was told many times by professional and proficient artists, that before you can paint you must learn to draw! I had drawn quite a bit in the late 1980s and then moved onto water colour then oil painting.  I am learning, through copying some of my late Mama’s amazing drawings which she drew very early on in her younger days, in order to develop more focus, concentration, attention to detail and work on aspects of shading and likeness.
