Deer InThe Enchanted Forest 42x30cm oil on canvas 27.2.2025 (Private Collection)  Having completed the Seasonal Series for the upcoming exhibition in Spring 2025, my “muse” has led me to the influence of abstract with a smattering of the impressionist qualities which I so admire.   Having exhibited five of my paintings in the North Chingford Arts Trail on the theme of “A New Light, lovingly curated by Love North Chingford, at “The View” in the Epping Forest Visitors Centre, East London in June 2024, whilst chatting to the curator of the exhibition, I asked about exhibiting at their gallery – a lovely airy gallery upstairs in the centre, with a view! The themes they accept are – nature, forest, landscapes.  Spot on synergy!

One morning whilst walking in the nearby wood to my home, part of the extended Epping Forest, in a small glade stood this beautiful deer. I stopped and we looked at one another for a  special, magical moment, and off she went. Clearly loving painting trees and forest scenes, and now in a variety of vibrant colours, allowing my imagination to have some fun time. This painting is a composition of a the deer on the golden path from the first painting as she travels into the enchanted forest towards the light at the end of the path. While I paint, I am guided to colours which represent my own “flare” and innate artistry which then show me a different palette and outcome, sometimes pleasing, other times, not so much.  I am learning to accept and welcome in the newness of my developing eclectic art work and compositions.
