Description
“The Christ”, A4 30x20cm, pencil on card, after a pencil drawing by Kahlil Gibran (4.7.2024). I was very inspired by this drawing of Gibran, I believe entitled “Head”. To me it became “The Christ”. Gibran is universally known for his work – “The Prophet”, translated in to many languages. In one of my editions of this book, I saw that he was also an artist as the book contained some of his drawings. Curious, I wondered what other art work Gibran had produced. I came across numerous, drawings – portraits, and many eclectic oil paintings. This is a wonderful article for those passionate about his work or art.
Inspired to take up the pencil! I was told many times by professional and proficient artists, that before you can paint you must learn to draw! I had drawn quite a bit in the late 1980s and then moved onto water colour then oil painting. I am learning, through copying some of my late Mama’s amazing drawings which she drew very early on in her younger days, in order to develop more focus, concentration, attention to detail and work on aspects of shading and likeness.
