In this short series of charcoal sketches, I am inspired by studying Burne Hogarth’s seminal works “Dynamic Anatomy” and “Drawing the Human Head  also “Drawing the Human Head”  of the same title by Giovanni Colombo and Guiseppe Vigliotti. Fascinating stuff. These sketches were executed in a speed drawing style of art. Free hand and no expectations!

Inspired to take up the pencil! I was told many times by professional and proficient artists, that before you can paint you must learn to draw! I had drawn quite a bit in the late 1980s and then moved onto water colour then oil painting.  I am learning, through copying some of my late Mama’s amazing drawings which she drew very early on in her younger days, in order to develop more focus, concentration, attention to detail and work on aspects of shading and likeness.
